Salman Khan has an uncanny ability to influence those who are close to him. Therefore, it is not surprising to learn that he managed to schedule a stunning number of movies entirely on his own initiative.
Tiger 3 and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, both slated for release in 2023, have switched places. Here’s what happened to cause the seismic shift.
“Salman personally urged (producer) Aditya Chopra to vacate the Eid schedule for Salman’s home production Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan,” a close friend of Salman says. For his Tiger 3, Aditya has decided on the Eid time frame. However, Salman persuaded Aditya that Salman’s domestic productions typically air on Eid. Tiger 3 is now scheduled for Diwali.
The fact that Chopra complied with Khan’s request is rather shocking. The Yash Raj scion is not known for caving to the desires of celebrities. Salman Khan, though, has always received special care at Yash Raj.
Salman sought and received his full fee for Ek Tha Tiger, his debut movie for Yash Raj, while other A-listers worked for the studio happily at a reduced rate. Prior to Shah Rukh, he had declined every offer made to him by Yash Raj, including Chak De India.
It’s interesting to note that Salman and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s disagreement over Inshallah stemmed mostly from Salman’s request that Inshallah be moved from the Eid schedule to make room for his home production.
