22nd March,2024, Mumbai: With Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani at the forefront of Satyaprem Ki Katha, producer Shareen Mantri Kedia is relishing the success of her most recent release. It’s interesting to note that Shareen has already supported a number of content-based films, such as Yami Gautam’s Lost, directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, and Majid Majidi’s critically praised film Beyond the Clouds. We have always supported initiatives with a deliberate basis, as you are aware. Having said that, we are experimenting with a wide range of genres, each of which has a market. All of it, whether it’s drama, humour, or action. In addition to Beyond the Clouds, Lost, and Satyaprem Ki Katha, we have also produced a web series based on Sunny Leone’s life story and a Marathi biographical film called Anandi Gopal. Thus, for us, content is and will always be king, says Shareen.
Shareen On Being A female Producer In The Country
She continues, “It is crucial to me as a female producer that all of my movies have author-backed roles for my female leads in addition to substantial roles for male leads. The rights to Phoolan Devi’s memoirs are actually ours for our next project.” Has their leading lady signed a similar contract? Nothing is set in stone just yet, but we do have a director on board and are talking about a few candidates for the female lead.”
Is it difficult for a woman to produce in an industry that is still perceived as predominantly male at times? As a female producer, I have never genuinely felt that I haven’t been taken seriously since I constantly make sure to voice my opinions. Perhaps it was harder for a woman to succeed in an environment like ours in the past, but nowadays I do see fairness in most areas. Although financing for female-led movies can be more difficult at times, things have improved in that area more quickly than we could have predicted, according to the producer of Satyaprem Ki Katha, who also hopes to produce more touching films in the future.
“I genuinely adore that genre; I grew up watching it, and I know that a lot of people still want a solid, realistic love tale. Shareen, who was motivated to become a director after watching The Shawshank Redemption and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, continues, “We have a few beautiful scripts in the pipeline, and I will reveal all about them in good time.”
Shareen On Working With Majid Majidi
Is there any possibility that you and Majid Majidi will work together on another project in the interim? You know, when I initially contacted him, I went looking for the rights to remake Children of Heaven in Hindi. But then, during our conversation, Beyond the Clouds was born. I can’t put into words how much I’ve enjoyed working with him, and we always talk about collaborating. We haven’t decided on a project yet, but I can assure you that we will shortly. Shareen says, “We’re eager to work with him once more.
Lastly, is there any new information regarding the anticipated Satyaprem Ki Katha 2?(Laughs) Well, that’s possible, but as of right now, we don’t know anything specific about part 2. However, as they say, never say never,” shares Shareen Mantri Kedia’s conclusion.
