Ramayana has hit theatres. Its release day has brought complaints from moviegoers. A viewer shared a video alleging technical problems during an IMAX 3D screening in Navi Mumbai.

The Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash-starrer was released worldwide on November 5, 2026. The group said the issue affected its show at Cinepolis, Seawoods. They had chosen the theatre for IMAX 3D.

Ramayana Moviegoer Reports Problems During IMAX 3D Screening

A content creator using the handle Avi Ka Gram shared a video about the incident. Its caption read, "Ramayana IMAX 3D big issue. Rs. 1,500 waste ho gaya." The creator said this was their only IMAX option.

The creator explained, "Ye sab chaos isliye chal raha hai kyunki hum Ramayana movie IMAX 3D mein dekhne aaye the, Seawoods Cinepolis Mall ke andar." The film reportedly started without 3D. When it switched to 3D, the screening paused.

He added, "Hamara experience bahut kharab raha, because movie start hui toh woh 3D mein nahi thi. Aur jab 3D mein start hui, toh movie pause ho gayi." Staff reportedly offered refunds and tickets for another show. However, the group wanted IMAX.

He continued, "But humein dekhna tha IMAX mein. Subah-subah Rs. 1,000-2,000 kharcha karke, kuch log specially Ulhasnagar se aaye the IMAX mein 3D dekhne ke liye."

They claimed they eventually watched the film in 2D. The creator urged the makers and Cinepolis management to fix the issue, saying, "Agar koi bhi makers dekh rahe hain ya Cinepolis Mall ki management team dekh rahi hai, toh please isko fix karo, because ye har baar hota hai."

Why To Watch And Why To Skip Ramayana In Theaters

The film's biggest draw is its visual scale. Its large sets, action sequences, Yash's portrayal of Ravana and the Jatayu sequence drive the spectacle. The Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman collaboration also adds appeal. However, Rahman's music isn't that great compared to his past work.

However, viewers looking for emotional depth may find the film lacking. Ranbir Kapoor's portrayal of Rama may feel miscast to some. The film prioritises spectacle over emotions, while some visual effects may look artificial. Sai Pallavi's casting as Sita may not convince everyone, and the lengthy runtime could test viewers' patience.
