16th June 2023, Mumbai: Actor Rahul Bose recently sat down for an exclusive interview, delving into his extensive three-decade journey in the film industry and sharing his thoughts on various aspects of his career. Known for his versatility as an actor, director, and writer, Bose expressed contentment with his film choices over the years, emphasizing the significance of rejecting certain projects.
Reflecting on a Three-Decade Journey
Bose reminisced about his acting debut in the English film August thirty years ago and acknowledged the growth he has experienced since then. “What you say no to determines your career, not what you accept. Many people find it difficult to say no. So I’m thrilled about that,” he affirmed, highlighting the importance of making discerning choices.
However, amidst his satisfaction, Bose candidly admitted to a few regrets. Contrary to claims suggesting otherwise, he acknowledged that there are aspects of his life he would change given the chance. “I would definitely change my life if I had the chance. I would change many tiny things,” he confessed. Reflecting on his past behavior, Bose expressed remorse for being rude to fellow students during his school days, mistreating teachers, and causing his parents significant distress. He humbly acknowledged his egotistical tendencies and acknowledged areas where he could have made greater efforts for personal growth.
Upcoming Projects and Clarifying Rumors
Discussing his recent film projects, Bose revealed that he had turned down a few films that were more mainstream and comedy-oriented. “And I had done enough of it,” he explained, underscoring his desire to explore diverse roles and genres.
Rumors have been circulating about Bose’s involvement in filmmaker Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming project, Jee Lee Zara, alongside renowned actors Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt. However, Bose swiftly refuted these reports, denying any association with the film. “Let me state unequivocally that I’m not (acting in the film). I haven’t been approached by Farhan or anyone else from the production. I am undoubtedly not part of the project,” he clarified, putting the rumors to rest.
Balancing Personal and Professional Life
In addition to his flourishing career, Bose shared insights into his personal life. At the age of 55, he revealed his decision to remain unmarried, citing his involvement in two non-profit organizations, his work in five films the previous year, and his current role as a director. Furthermore, he holds the position of president at the Indian Rugby Federation, leaving little time for social engagements. Bose expressed a tinge of sadness and admitted that he is not proud of his situation. Nevertheless, he conveyed that his busy schedule makes it highly improbable for a significant other to find a place in his life at present.
Rahul Bose’s interview provided a glimpse into his eventful three-decade journey, shedding light on his film choices, regrets, and upcoming projects. As an accomplished actor and multi-talented individual, Bose continues to captivate audiences with his versatility and dedication to his craft.
