14th July 2023,Mumbai: Lucknow: Pankaj Tripathi’s Second Home
Shooting Projects in Lucknow
Lucknow has become a second home to actor Pankaj Tripathi, who has shot multiple projects in the city. From “Bareilly Ki Barfi” to “Kaagaz” and “Gujan Saxena: The Kargil Girl,” as well as three parts of the “Mirzapur” series, and now “Main Atal Hoon,” the actor feels a deep connection to the place. He finds joy in the prospect of exploring the city, indulging in good food, and experiencing the local culture. There’s also a special bond with the language spoken there.
Film City and Atalji’s Legacy
Lucknow plays a crucial role in Pankaj Tripathi’s latest film, “Main Atal Hoon.” The city holds great significance as the land where Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s political journey unfolded. The actor feels a distinct connection with this place and its people.
Meeting the Chief Minister
During his time in Lucknow, Pankaj Tripathi had the opportunity to meet Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the first time in his life. The actor was in awe of meeting such a prominent political figure. He observed the system closely and engaged in a conversation with the Chief Minister about Atalji and their shared connection to Gorakhpur. Pankaj Tripathi hails from Gopalganj and plans to visit Gorakhpur and his village, which is a two-hour drive from the city.
Concern for the Environment
Working on the film “Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga” in 2022 heightened Pankaj Tripathi’s concern for the environment. He believes that it is crucial to focus on the ecosystem for the sake of future generations. Personally, he has made significant changes in his lifestyle, reducing plastic usage by 99%. He carries glass bottles and a matka (earthen pot) from a local market, and he uses a steel tiffin box to carry his food. Pankaj Tripathi encourages everyone to do their part in creating a better future.
Story Trumps All
Pankaj Tripathi firmly believes that there is no formula for success in his life. He never imagined that he would play a lead role in a film, but it happened unexpectedly. For him, whether he plays the lead or acts in a multi-starrer film is irrelevant. The only criterion that matters to him is a good story. As long as he becomes a part of a compelling narrative, Pankaj Tripathi is satisfied and motivated to give his best.
Lucknow holds a special place in Pankaj Tripathi’s heart, having shot numerous projects there. The city’s vibrant culture, delectable food, and warm people have made it his second home. Pankaj Tripathi’s recent encounter with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath further strengthened his connection to the city and its rich history. Moreover, his work on environmental issues has made him more conscious of his personal choices. Above all, Pankaj Tripathi’s primary focus remains on being part of engaging stories that captivate audiences.
