8 August 2023, Mumbai: Pankaj Tripathi, the versatile actor known for his remarkable performances, is currently engaging in promotions for his upcoming film “Oh My God 2.” During an insightful interview, he candidly shared his perspective on his connection with his village, handling fame, and his heartfelt bond with his parents.
Amid the promotional buzz for “Oh My God 2,” Pankaj Tripathi engaged in a chit chat with journalists, offering a glimpse into his personal life beyond the silver screen.
Tripathi’s Approach to the Limelight
Pankaj Tripathi, known for his down-to-earth nature, shared insights into his unique experiences and challenges while visiting his hometown. He candidly explained, “I make it a point to meet everyone. When I visit, I dress in a traditional dhoti. However, the environment has changed. The district officer sends a police Jeep when I go to the tea shop. This attention is not something I appreciate. Consequently, I choose to visit my parents quietly, often missing out on quality time with them. I find myself taking photos outside their door all day long, as the people I wish to meet are often indoors. If someone does come out, I feel compelled to take a photo, lest they perceive me as arrogant. As a result, I end up spending more time with relatives and less with my parents. Hence, I prefer to slip away quietly, using a car from Gorakhpur to travel to the village. Even in our family’s WhatsApp group, I discreetly exit when conversations veer towards my presence.” Tripathi’s modesty and his desire for genuine connections shine through his thoughtful approach to handling fame.
A Tree’s Wisdom and a Parent’s Love
In response to the question of whether his parents wish to shift to a more urban setting, Pankaj Tripathi shared a philosophical perspective that resonates deeply with his grounded values. Drawing a beautiful analogy, he compared his parents’ attachment to their village to a tree that has spent the majority of its life in a particular environment. He humorously expressed that even if offered a grand Mughal garden with all the luxuries, the tree would prefer to remain rooted in its familiar soil. Tripathi conveyed his parents’ genuine contentment with their rustic life, surrounded by cows, farms, and cherished acquaintances. He explained that he respects their sentiment and the genuine connections they have nurtured over the years.
Tripathi’s Heartfelt Bond with his Village
Reflecting on his conversations with his parents, Pankaj Tripathi revealed the touching realization that their world is distinct from his, and each has their unique joys and comforts. He described the profound bond his parents share with their surroundings, emphasizing their attachment to the familiar faces and places. Tripathi’s storytelling ability came to the fore as he vividly conveyed the essence of his parents’ contented life.
Tripathi’s Commitment to Genuine Connections
In a moment of heartfelt resolve, Pankaj Tripathi vowed to uphold the treasured bond he shares with his parents. He expressed his commitment to visiting his village discreetly every few months, ensuring that he spends quality time with his loved ones. Despite the demands of his acting career and growing fame, the actor’s humility and reverence for his roots shine through, underscoring the enduring values that shape his life choices.
