6th May 2023, Mumbai : One of the most eagerly awaited occasions in the fashion world is the Met Gala, and this year’s theme, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” did not dissapoint. Some of the greatest stars in the glamour and fashion worlds walked the red carpet at the star-studded event, including Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt, who looked stunning in their designer outfits. Veteran Bollywood actress Neena Gupta, meanwhile, acknowledges that she envies younger performers’ widespread success and wishes she had attained the same degree of success earlier in her career.
During a conversation with News 18, everything took place. “I wish we also had the same kind of exposure,” Gupta said. Every minute that goes by, it crosses my mind. Every moment makes me feel envious.”
Explaining her take further, the Panga actress said, “I wonder what if I was a young actor in this day and age! I could have achieved so much more. Having said that, I know that you can’t have everything that you wish for. I definitely do feel thankful for all the work that’s coming my way even at this age. But yes, I feel very, very jealous when I look at them wearing gowns and walking [on the global stage].”
She continued by saying that she is working with Kanwaljit Singh on three projects with Jio Studios, including the feature film Baa and the anthologies Dogs Not Allowed and Ishq E Nadaan. Additionally, she just wrapped up the highly-anticipated Sabun movie with Jackie Shroff for Amazon. She clarifies that it differs from Khujli (2017) and was directed by the esteemed Vijay Maurya.
