4 July 2023, Mumbai: Pregnancy is a transformative phase in a woman’s life and it is important to maintain physical and mental health during this time. Prenatal yoga is one of the best exercises to do during pregnancy and it also prepares the body for birth by focusing on breathing techniques. Celebrity yoga trainer Roopal Siddhpura Faria has emerged as a trusted guide for some of the most famous mommies in the entertainment industry such as Kareena Kapoor Khan, Soha Ali Khan and Surveen Chawla. Take a look at how these moms practiced yoga with Roopal during their pregnancy and even after giving birth:
Soha Ali Khan One of the fittest moms out there
Soha Ali Khan started doing prenatal yoga to learn deep breathing which helped her during labor and birth. As her pregnancy progressed, her yoga routine changed. “Soha is very fit, so we did a lot more. Of course I had to keep in mind how the fetus is developing every week, I don’t train on a trimester basis,” says Roopal.

Kareena Kapoor Khan enlisted Roopal’s help a few days before an ad shoot for an athletic footwear brand when she was pregnant with son Jehangir. Rupal incorporated such asanas in Kareena’s exercise routine which not only looked beautiful but were also safe to do. Roopal says “Actually I met her to prepare for the shoot as it involved doing prenatal yoga. I trained her to do easy to easy. Keeping in mind all the changes that her body goes through during pregnancy, I Choose postures that are safe for them, including those with back pain.” After giving birth to son Jeh, Kareena started learning yoga with Roopal. Postnatal yoga also helped in recovery and regaining balance.
Surveen Chawla Roopal Siddhpura Faria has also provided her expertise to Surveen Chawla during pregnancy. Roopal’s guidance was instrumental in helping Surveen stay active, ease the discomforts of pregnancy and develop a sense of calm. “Surveen started doing antenatal yoga after being advised by her doctor. So I had to keep her comfort in mind while designing the routine,” says Roopal.
