In response to a news article about Priyanka Chopra’s recent statement about her departure from Bollywood, Kangana took to Twitter on Tuesday morning and commented, “Here’s what priyankachopra has to say about Bollywood – she was targeted by a group of people, bullied, and forced to exit the film industry. It’s unfortunate that a self-made woman was compelled to leave India. It’s common knowledge that Karan Johar was responsible for banning her.
In another tweet, Kangana stated, “The media extensively covered her fallout with Karan Johar due to her friendship with SRK, and the movie mafia, represented by Cruella, who is always on the lookout for vulnerable outsiders, saw Priyanka as a perfect punching bag and harassed her to the point where she had no choice but to leave India.
Kangana expressed her opinion that the individual who behaved in an obnoxious, jealous, mean, and toxic manner should be held responsible for destroying the welcoming culture and environment of the film industry that was never hostile to outsiders during the days of Amitabh Bachchan or Shah Rukh Khan. She also urged authorities to investigate the person’s gang and mafia public relations team and hold them responsible for mistreating outsiders.
During an episode of the podcast Armchair Expert hosted by Dax Shepherd, Priyanka disclosed that she decided to venture into the music industry in the West after facing challenges in Bollywood. According to Priyanka, she was struggling to obtain good roles and was caught up in industry politics. It was at this point that her close friend and current manager, Anjula Acharia, suggested she try her luck in Western music. Priyanka further explained that she felt cornered in Bollywood, with individuals refusing to cast her and having disagreements with her. She also expressed her exhaustion with the politics in the industry and the need for a break.
