1st July 2023, Mumbai: Gulshan Devaiah, known for his vocal support for artists, extends his support in real life as well. When Bengaluru-based caricature artist Prasad Bhat reached out to him to pay tribute to Gulshan as an actor by creating caricatures of his iconic characters, Gulshan couldn’t accept it for free. Touched by the gesture, Gulshan decided to commission the artwork from the talented artist.
Prasad Bhat carefully selected Gulshan’s looks from his various movies, including “Commando 3,” “Dahaad,” “Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela,” “Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota,” “Ghost Stories,” “Durangaa,” “Badhaai Do,” “Hunterrr,” “Death in the Gunj,” and “That Girl in Yellow Boots.”
Expressing his gratitude, Gulshan says that if he genuinely likes something, he is willing to pay for it. While he appreciates and feels privileged to receive offers from artists to create something for him for free, he understands the value of their work and livelihood. In an age of machine learning and AI, he believes in supporting artists by paying them their rightful rates. Impressed by Prasad’s idea and art, Gulshan decided to commission him to create a summary of his career through these caricatures. He expresses his happiness with the outcome, noting that each caricature holds special memories for him.
Gulshan was last seen in the movie “8 A.M. Metro,” where he starred opposite Saiyami Kher. He also garnered rave reviews for his role as a cop named Devilal Singh in the crime thriller “Dahaad.” Up next, he will begin filming the action thriller “Ulajh” alongside Janhvi Kapoor and Malayalam movie star Roshan Mathew.
