24th June 2023, Mumbai: The celebrated filmmaker Ramanand Sagar’s great-granddaughter Sakshi Chopra came out about a terrifying incident she went through while filming the game show Social Currency for Netflix. Sakshi said that she experienced sexual harassment while working on the show, with the producers forcing her to carry out offensive chores in front of others. Despite being promised the ability to do so, Sakshi stated that she was not even permitted to talk with her mother. Sakshi detailed her horrible story while on the sets in a lengthy Instagram post.
Sakshi Chopra started off by describing how Netflix producers “begged” her to appear in the show despite her persistent denial. “They mislead me into believing it’s ONLY a game show with fun tasks like singing, content creation – No gossip no drama ONLY games,” she stated before adding that the producers did not even supply the players with sufficient meals, even behind the cameras.
Sakshi said, “They felt I would be fine with this dirt because I am bold in my choice of clothing. The television star admitted that she enjoys tranquilly, time with her family, and music. Sakshi remarked in reference to how she was forbidden from speaking to her mother, “I was very clear if I didn’t get a call a day, I can’t live without my mother, so I won’t sign. So, after I was in, they just ignored everything they had promised.”
Sakshi mentioned how a particular participant, Mridul, “openly” uttered insulting remarks about her body. In addition, he videotaped his remarks and played them for the audience to watch in order to elicit reactions “just for the sake of ratings” and “dirty entertainment.” Sakshi blamed Social Currency’s creators and producers for forcing her to reside in the same house as Mridul despite the upsetting circumstances. She added, “I cannot even begin to describe how suffocating that was.”
Sakshi revealed that because of the nature of the duties on the show, she was forced to engage in embarrassing public behaviour, “such having strangers scratch your back & make orgasm sounds on the street… Allow strangers to dance with you in a goa club and make lewd comments about them.” Sakshi explained that if she didn’t complete these really explicit chores, she wouldn’t be provided food. She said, “No matter what I choose to wear, you cannot offend my modesty in public.”Popular content creators and social media influencers compete in the game show Social Currency in order to survive without the use of any technology. Famous people like Bhavin Bhanushali, Parth Samthaan, Ruhi Singh, and Vagmita Singh took part in the programme.
