25th April, 2023 : The third Hera Pheri installment, starring Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty, and Akshay Kumar, is undoubtedly the most eagerly anticipated movie of the year for many fans. As a result, it has frequently been in the news for both good and bad reasons. When a photo from the announcement commercial shot went viral, there was a lot of excitement and fanfare. However, as soon as it was revealed that Farhad Samji would be helming the comedy escapade, social media was rife with outrage. After his web series, Pop Kaun, debuted on Disney+ Hotstar, the resentment increased. Many thought it was poorly written and produced and feared the worse for their eagerly anticipated movie. The hashtag ‘Remove Farhad Samji From Hera Pheri’ thus became a popular topic on Twitter.
And now it’s been revealed that the producers of Hera Pheri 4 are reconsidering their decision to get Farhad Samji on board. There is much too much hate surrounding Farhad Samji, a source told Bollywood Hungama, “Never in our lives have we witnessed such animosity for a director. The makers believe it’s not entirely unwarranted because there have been Twitter trends calling for his removal.”
An industry expert stated, “Farhad Samji as a director, in my opinion, is fine. He knows how to handle scale and grandeur. And there aren’t many directors who can do so in today’s times. He just needs to come up with a better script and dialogues. If that is taken care of, he can do a fine job with Hera Pheri 4.”
In an interview for the promotion of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, Farhad Samji discussed the petition to “Remove Farhad Samji From Hera Pheri.” trend. “First of all, toh kaun hai yeh log when the movie hasn’t even been formally announced?” he asked. “We do our best,” he continued. “If there is an issue, we will do our best to fix it by producing better films and punchlines. Our goal is to appeal to a broad audience by giving them a movie that combines romance, masala, action, comedy, etc. Since I started writing, God has been incredibly gracious, and this has continued as I transitioned into directing.”
