1st May 2023: Zayed Khan, recently recalled an incident during the filming of his 2004 film Main Hoon Na, where the director, Farah Khan, threw her chappal at him. Zayed revealed that Farah got angry after he shouted ‘cut’ on the sets, as they were shooting at a high altitude, facing difficulties. Main Hoon Na was Farah Khan’s directorial debut and starred Shah Rukh Khan, Sushmita Sen, Suniel Shetty, Amrita Rao, and Zayed. The film was shot at St. Paul’s School in West Bengal.
During an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Zayed reminisced about the difficulties they faced while shooting for the film. Zayed explained that they were shooting on 400 feet of film and not on digital, meaning that there was a discipline on set, and they could not take as many takes as they wanted. Additionally, since they were shooting at a high altitude, the actors found it tough after giving one take.
Zayed recalled a particular incident during the shoot of Main Hoon Na, where he shouted ‘cut’ on the sets. The camera had captured Amrita Rao and was coming towards him. However, one of the dancers next to him fell down as he got a fit due to exhaustion. Zayed was unsure of what to do as he started performing, but he realized that he would have to dance over the fallen dancer, which he did not think was appropriate. Hence, he shouted ‘cut.’ Farah Khan got angry at Zayed and abused him while also throwing her chappal at him. Zayed defended himself and said he could not dance over someone who was dying, which caused Farah to thunder, ‘You can’t say Cut on my bl***y set. I’ll say Cut’. However, they managed to rescue the fallen dancer, and they did the shoot again, which went smoothly.
Zayed Khan made his acting debut with the 2003 film Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne and gained fame with his roles in Main Hoon Na, Shabd, and Dus. He was last seen on the TV show Haasil. Although Zayed has been away from the limelight for a long time, he is all set to return to films with his comeback project titled The Film That Never Was. The movie is being helmed by Mohit Shrivastav and also stars Jackie Shroff.
