21st November 2023, Mumbai: Choreographer- Director recently opened up about her several works in Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiya podcast. Well, Farah Khan started her career in the industry as a choreographer where she gained recognition for the movie ‘Jo Jita Wohi Sikander’, ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’. Mainly, she is known for her energy, creativity and ability to make non dancers look graceful on screen. She opened up about working with South Industry and shared Telugu Star Nagarjuna was the first who’s the one that increased her fee as a Choreographer.
Farah Shared She Learned Discipline From The South Industry
Farah Khan appeared in Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiya podcast LOL where Farah Khan opened up about his journey as Choreographer. She said that, “I did many South films and worked with directors after the ‘Jo Jita Wohi Sikander’ movie and she revealed that “That is why the discipline and organization skills have come from there”.
Farah Khan Shared Her Experience
Talking about her experience, she worked with Priyadarshan in Virasat and said, “They are very fast. Their style is so fast, and they don’t waste any time. They will quickly set the frame, the actors are also punctual and will come at 5 am for the shoot.” She mentioned, “Then I worked a lot with Mani Ratnam sir. I did Dil Se and before that Iruvar and Alai Payuthey, which is the southern version of Saathiya. They have different logic and working styles. With us (Bollywood), everything is leisurely, but there it is like an army is working.”
Farah Khan Charged Around 10k Before Nagarjuna Rises His Fees
When talking about her days from the year 1994-95, Farah said that apart from Hindi movies she has choreographed a lot of Telugu songs where she met Nagarjuna and he was the First one who raised her fees. At that time, she said “I charge around 10k -15k per song.
Farah Khan Worked As Director And Producer Too
In 2004, Farah made a successful transition from being a Choreographer in the movie Main Hoon Na. Also she followed it up with one more successful hit movie, Om Shanti Om in 2007. She also worked as a director and delivered both commercially and successful entertaining films.
Apart from directing, she has also ventured in film production. Along with her husband Shirish Kunder established their production company. Under this she produced films like Tees Maar Khan.
