Diljit Dosanjh, a former Punjabi musician who now works as a Bollywood actor, is a social media superstar. He made his Hindi film debut in Udta Punjab, playing opposite Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Alia Bhatt, after dominating the Punjabi industry. Later, he appeared in movies like Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, Welcome to New York, Soorma alongside Taapsee Pannu, Arjun Patiala, and Phillauri.
He most recently appeared in the Netflix film Jogi, which was helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the director of Ek Tha Tiger. The GOAT singer frequently posts videos from his wildly popular international shows on the internet.
However, Diljit Dosanjh is currently in the news for quite other reasons. The Good News actor has become a hot topic in the community as a result of his most recent interview. In the same interview, the singer-turned-actor spoke candidly about his inability to network in the business because he is unable to regularly attend parties or call people.
Diljit Dosanjh opened up about doing lesser films and giving Bollywood less emphasis in an interview with Film Companion. It’s not only Bollywood, he remarked. Everything but music is low priority for me. I will do everything for the sake of music. I didn’t even know many people here; I wasn’t even born or raised in Mumbai. The fact that I can’t socialise with people used to bother me, but now I consider it a blessing that I can’t. I cherish myself.
“I can’t do networking, I can’t attend parties, can’t call people up everyday. I have seen actors who video call their producers six times from the sets! I am not kidding! They tell them, ‘We are now doing this, now doing that’. Main kaha hadd ho gayi (I think this is too much). I just can’t do this,” added the Born To Shine singer.
