19th February,2024, Mumbai: At the prestigious 77th British Academy Film Awards, which were held in London on Sunday, Desi star Deepika Padukone is now representing India. The actress chose to turn attention by wearing a stunning sequin saree, proudly displaying her background. On the global stage, she even gave the presentation of the Best Film award in the non-English category.
The Zone of Interest receives the Best Film Award from Deepika Padukone in a language other than English.
Many pictures of Deepika Padukone attending the British Academy of Film and Television Arts award presentation while donning a lovely saree were leaked a while back. It took place on Sunday, February 18, in London at the Royal Festival Hall at Southbank Centre. In addition, she gave filmmaker Jonathan Glazer the Best Film not in English Language Award for The Zone of Interest, a historical drama.
Everyone went crazy when the Bajirao Mastani actress revealed to the world what she was wearing that evening. Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar lavished DP in affection in her pose. One fan said to her as “wow so beautiful,” and another said that “Deepika Padukone x Saree is the best combo ever.” A fourth person added, “Deepika Padukone the dreamy girl,” and a third wrote, “Deepika and sarees a match made in heaven.”
The actress has done us proud at international gatherings on previous occasions. She presented at the 2023 Academy Awards, just as she did at BAFTA 2024.
At the 2024 BAFTA Film Awards, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer takes home several prizes.
The British Academy presents the BAFTA Awards each year, which honour the year’s top performances. This time, the biographical thriller Oppenheimer from 2023 took home numerous honours, including Best Film, Best Director (Christopher Nolan), Best Leading Actor (Cillian Murphy), Best Original Score (Ludwig Göransson), Best Cinematography (Hoyte van Hoytema), and Best Editing (Jennifer Lame). The official BAFTA website states that actor Robert Downey Jr. was also awarded the Best Supporting Actor Award for the movie.
A special ward was awarded to film curator June Givanni, and Emma Stone took up the Best Leading Actress award for her role in Poor Things.
