15th March, Mumbai: Taapsee Pannu’s statement regarding the social etiquettes of Bollywood actors. However, it is not uncommon for people in certain professions or social circles to have different customs and practices than the general population. The gift-giving culture may vary among individuals and groups, and it is possible that in the world of Bollywood, attending each other’s parties is considered a sufficient show of support and camaraderie.
In the conversation with Lallantop, Taapsee was speaking about attending Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday party and when asked about the gift she chose for him, the actor said, “Koi kya hi dega? Shah Rukh Khan ko koi kya hi de sakta hai? (What gift can anyone give Shah Rukh Khan? Taapsee continued by saying that she wondered what you could possibly give to a person who has everything.
Then, she mentioned a Diwali party held at the Bachchan home and said that attendees also showed up without any gifts there. The phrase “Vahan pe sab bina gift ke hi jaate hain” and The host looked astonished once more before laughing and said, ‘’bade he kanjoos type log hain’ ( everyone is quite miserly) .
However, her question about whether the host has ever seen anyone carrying gifts in paparazzi photos!
Taapsee’s statement suggests that she has been making an effort to bring gifts to Diwali parties as a way of showing appreciation and building relationships with others. she may have felt uncomfortable or out of place because it appeared that others were not bringing gifts or that gift-giving was not the norm at these parties. By leaving the gift in her car and giving it to the host only when she was about to leave, Taapsee may have been trying to avoid drawing attention to herself or making others feel uncomfortable by giving a gift that they were not expecting or prepared to reciprocate. This approach can be a thoughtful way to express gratitude.
