Opening Day Collection
The film opened decently, making Rs 15.21 crore on its first day in India. The subsequent days, Saturday and Sunday, witnessed a surge in the collection, with the movie raking in Rs 19.18 crore and Rs 20.74 crore, respectively.
Fourth Day Collection
On its fourth day, Monday, the film saw a dip as per the trade website Sacnilk. It managed to earn around Rs 7 crore nett (early estimates) in India, across all languages. The total domestic earnings of ‘Shaitaan’ in all languages now revolve around Rs 61 crore.
Shaitaan box office day 1 – Film Occupancy and Overseas Business
The overall Hindi occupancy was 14.96% on day four. It was 9.55% for morning shows, 13.33% for afternoon shows, 14.70% for evening shows, and it increased to 22.26% for night shows. As for its overseas business, the film raked in Rs.15.26 crore (USD 1.86 million) over the first weekend, and the film’s worldwide weekend gross collection now stands at Rs. 80.31 crore (USD 9.80 million). ‘Shaitaan’ also marks Ajay Devgn’s second highest overseas opening.
Box Office Figures
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh unveiled the box office figures of Shaitaan on Monday through social media platform X. He stated, “The audience has spoken loud and clear:

About ‘Shaitaan’
‘Shaitaan’ is backed by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak under the banners of Jio Studios, Devgn Films, and Panorama Studios. The supernatural film is a Hindi remake of the 2023 Gujarati film Vasha, and revolves around a family held hostage at their home by a man with supernatural powers.
The film’s story and screenplay are written by Krishnadev Yagnik and Aamil Keeyan Khan, respectively. It also features Janki Bodiwala and Anngad Raaj in pivotal roles. Cinematographer Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti, editor Sandeep Francis and composer Amit Trivedi are part of the technical crew of ‘Shaitan’.
Review
Despite the drop in collection on the fourth day, ‘Shaitaan’ has been receiving mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike. The unique storyline, gripping performances, and the well-executed background score have been appreciated. However, some viewers felt that the plot could have been more refined and the length of the movie could have been shortened a bit.
The film’s success and the audience’s response have shown that there is a market for well-made supernatural thrillers in India. It will be interesting to see how ‘Shaitaan’ fares in the coming weeks and if it can maintain its momentum at the box office.
