27th September 2023, Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan’s latest cinematic venture, “Jawan,” continues to shine brightly at the box office, entertaining audiences both in India and around the world. The Atlee-directed film, featuring a star-studded cast including Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, has enjoyed remarkable success since its theatrical release on September 7. Jawan” has amassed a staggering ₹570 crore in India alone, marking its phenomenal performance at the domestic box office. On its 20th day in theaters, the film added ₹5.1 crore to its impressive earnings, maintaining its stronghold on the box office charts.

The film’s box office journey has been nothing short of extraordinary, with a week one collection of ₹389.88 crore, which includes ₹347.98 crore from the Hindi version, ₹23.86 crore from Tamil, and ₹18.04 crore from Telugu audiences. Week two was equally lucrative, bringing in ₹136.1 crore (₹125.46 crore from Hindi, ₹4.17 crore from Tamil, and ₹6.47 crore from Telugu). Notably, “Jawan” continued to thrive with ₹7.6 crore on day 16, ₹12.25 crore on day 17, ₹14.95 crore on day 18, and ₹5.4 crore on day 19, culminating in a remarkable total of ₹571.28 crore since its debut. This incredible achievement has secured “Jawan” a prestigious position as the fourth highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.
Jawan marks ₹1000 crore mark worldwide
Beyond the borders of India, “Jawan” has also made a significant impact. It achieved the remarkable milestone of crossing the ₹1000 crore mark worldwide, solidifying its status as the highest-grossing Bollywood release of the year and the fourth highest-grossing film of all time. Actress Sanya Malhotra took to Instagram to celebrate this historic achievement, underscoring the film’s place in cinematic history.

Shah Rukh Khan, who stars in “Jawan,” has now etched his name in the annals of Bollywood history by becoming the first actor to have two films grossing ₹1000 crore each in a single year, following his previous release, “Pathaan.” In light of the movie’s phenomenal success, Shah Rukh Khan expressed his elation during a recent press conference in Mumbai, saying, “It’s a celebration. We rarely get a chance to live with a film for years. The making of ‘Jawan’ has been going on for four years due to Covid and time constraints. There were a lot of people involved in this film, especially people from the South who came and settled in Mumbai and have been living in Mumbai for the last four years and working day and night for this film, which is the hardest work ever.”
