Monsterverse Is Unstoppable
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, the most recent entry in the Monsterverse series, has outperformed Crew, its Bollywood rival, at the Indian box office with a bang. The legendary monsters were too strong for the star-studded crew, which included Kareena Kapoor, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon. Godzilla x Kong made an astounding ₹37 crore in its first weekend of release.
In just three days after its release, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has reportedly crossed the ₹30 crore barrier at the Indian box office, according to Box Office Battle Trade analyst Taran Adarsh’s report. Crew, on the other hand, trailed behind, albeit with great performances from its main cast and favorable reviews from viewers.
The simultaneous release of both movies in theaters paved the way for a direct confrontation between Bollywood and Hollywood. But the Monsterverse won, proving that the Indian public is ready for action packed with explosive spectacular effects.
Godzilla x Kong: An Analysis of The New Empire’s Profits
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire made ₹12.60 crore on Friday, ₹11.85 crore on Saturday, and ₹13.15 crore on Sunday, according to Taran Adarsh’s day-by-day earnings analysis. This new Monsterverse release broke the record for the largest opening weekend for a Hollywood movie in India in 2024 with a total of ₹37.60 crore.
The film was distributed in 2865 theaters throughout India, including IMAX, and was available in Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu. This extensive distribution and remarkable box office results were a result of this.
Performance of the Crew at the Box Office
The Bollywood heist comedy Crew, on the other hand, lagged behind Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. In its first weekend of release, the film, which centers on three air hostesses entangled in a web of falsehoods, took in ₹32.60 crore. While still a respectable amount, it was less than the Monsterverse movie’s receipts.
Regarding Crew Crew has been hailed as a comedy riot against the backdrop of the airline industry’s financial difficulties. The film, which stars Tabu, Kareena, and Kriti in the key roles, centers on their journey when they find out that a fellow passenger is smuggling gold biscuits on their aircraft. The film is being produced by Anil Kapoor Film & Communications Network and Balaji Telefilms. Diljit Dosanjh, Kapil Sharma, Saswata Chatterjee, Rajesh Sharma, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda are among the supporting cast members.
