18 August 2023, Mumbai: In a candid revelation, Abhishek Bachchan sheds light on the admirable approach his wife, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, takes to ensure their daughter, Aaradhya, comprehends the weight and value of the renowned ‘Bachchan’ surname. As the actor prepares for the release of his upcoming film “Ghoomer,” co-starring Saiyami Kher, he delves into his family’s esteemed background and the valuable lessons being passed down through generations.
‘‘Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Pivotal Role:’’
During a recent conversation with Raj Shamani, Abhishek Bachchan shared insights into how his spouse, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, plays a pivotal role in imparting the significance of the cherished ‘Bachchan’ surname to their daughter, Aaradhya.
Bachchan articulated, “The sanctity of my surname holds immense importance to me. My current identity is a testament to the legacy bestowed upon me by my grandfather. My father, in turn, impeccably upheld the honor associated with our name.”
He further revealed Aishwarya’s approach in ensuring their daughter carries forward this legacy, saying, “I observe my wife inculcate these values in our daughter. While we do not impose undue pressure on her, it is essential that she respects the accomplishments and contributions of her father, her dada ji (grandfather), and her pardada ji (great-grandfather). This respect should never waver, and she should refrain from actions that may diminish our family’s legacy.”
‘‘A Reverent Approach:’’
The couple’s approach to nurturing their daughter’s understanding of their lineage underscores the deep reverence they hold for their family heritage. Abhishek Bachchan’s heartfelt words echo the sentiment that their surname embodies a legacy of achievements, a symbol of pride passed down through generations.
‘‘Abhishek’s Upcoming Film “Ghoomer”:’’
As anticipation builds for the release of “Ghoomer,” audiences are eagerly anticipating Abhishek Bachchan’s portrayal of a strict cricket coach. In the film, Saiyami Kher takes on the role of an inspirational paraplegic sportswoman who defies all odds to achieve success in cricket, with the guidance of her coach.
Bachchan speaks highly of his character, Padam Singh Sodhi, revealing, “I perceive Paddy as the most emotionally sensitive character in the film. It’s fascinating that his means of expression are entirely contrary to his emotions. This unique contradiction in his persona resonated with me, as he projects a venomous and acerbic exterior. Yet, beneath this exterior lies a deep-rooted love for his craft.”
Set to hit theaters on August 18, “Ghoomer” boasts an impressive cast including Shabana Azmi and Angad Bedi, promising a compelling narrative that delves into the world of sports, inspiration, and resilience.
