In 2020, singer Aditya Narayan and his longtime lover Shweta Agarwal got married. The couple had their first kid, a daughter they named Tvisha, in the year 2022. The actor-singer discussed them in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama as she gave her explanation for giving up television.
It’s interesting to note that the young musician said that he decided to stop presenting television programmes because the reason for which he began doing so has now been achieved. He elaborated on this by recalling how difficult it was to refuse money, especially when it was in crores. He ‘felt,’ nonetheless, that money predominated above art.
Aditya asserted, “By the time I finished starting up I was married. Tvisha was just born. I think two weeks after Tvisha was born, I finished hosting Sa Re Ga Ma Pa so from a teenager like an 18-year-old teenager to a 34-year-old young man with a beautiful daughter and beautiful wife, it was life coming full circle for me.”
“my goal with Indian television especially in the past five years was to be financially independent because I wanted to settle down. I wanted to buy a new house and buying a house in Bombay is like buying 100 acres of land anywhere else in the world. Even a cubicle will be 1.5 crores plus GST and that’s how it is. Imagine wanting to buy a 2500 square foot house on the 33rd floor,” he went on to add.
Aditya ended by adding that he had set out to attain financial independence and that he has now done so, so he bid TV farewell. He clarified, though, that he wouldn’t say he would never return.
