Salman Khan produced back-to-back blockbusters during the past ten years. Salman’s 2015 flick Bajrangi Bhaijaan sticks out because it wasn’t your ordinary action movie. The iconic filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli’s father, K. V. Vijayendra Prasad, who wrote the screenplay, recently disclosed some fascinating information about Bajrangi Bhaijaan at the just happened International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa.
Salman Khan also confirmed that Aamir Khan was contacted for the movie during a press conference held after Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s premiere: “Yes, Prasad had come to him, and Aamir had sent him to me, the man replied. Therefore, this is only Aamir Sahab’s kindness.”
Bajrangi Bhaijaan was not just rejected by Aamir. One of the film’s producers, Rockline Venkatesh, claimed a few months ago that a number of famous people from other film industries turned down the role of Bajrangi Bhaijaan. In an interview with the Kannada newspaper Udayavani, he stated, ““The script work of Bajrangi Bhaijaan had been in place for the past 4-5 years. Rajinikanth sir, Allu Arjun, Puneeth Rajkumar and Aamir Khan had heard the storyline. But they all turned down the script for various reasons. Finally, director Kabir Khan narrated the story to Salman Khan, who happily gave the green signal to the project.”
That’s not all, either. As soon as his father began to tell the story, S. S. Rajamouli was unable to direct it. He was already preoccupied with creating his masterpiece, Baahubali, which was one of the causes. It’s interesting to note that Bajrangi Bhaijaan hit theatres a week after Baahubali: The Beginning, on July 10, 2015.
Kabir Khan was finally the film’s director. The protagonist was the kind-hearted and devout Pawan, who made the decision to travel to Pakistan in order to reunite a mute daughter with her parents.
