14th February 2024, Mumbai: Today is 14th February, 2024, the date to celebrate and cherish the love with your partner. The Western culture tagged along with Indian created the magic of honoring the togetherness forever. Bollywood never lacks to gives us such goals in our everyday relationship like running around the mustard field with a guitar and singing under the rains, there would be few person who don’t want to the experience the love like this when for the first time butterfly starts to kick in. Whereas, bollywood is celebrating valentine with their off-screen spouse like Ra-Lia, Sid-Kiara, Vicky-Katrina, Vir-Ushka, lets talk about the off-screen couple that we miss.
Movies like “Dilwale dulhaniya le jayenge, hum apke hain kaun, maine pyar kiya, kal ho na ho, hum dil de chuke sanam, pardes, dil toh pagal hain’’, and many more made the standard of love high for 90s kids. In between Millennial and GenZ we are still ‘Zillenial’ looking for Raj_Simran pyaar in Murad_Safeena generation but the fun fact is we can vibe in both ‘Chhaiyya Chhaiyya’ and ‘Yeh ladki pagal hain’ together. This Valentine let’s honor those few couple whom we thought married while we were kids and got our heartbroken when we seen their actual other half. Relatable ?
Yes, SRK and Kajol is one of them. Not only us even Varun Dhawan said in an interview that in his childhood when he first visited Mannat, he expected Kajol ma’am to open the door, instead of Gauri. The SRK_Kajol jodi is always a hit even after 20 years of DDLJ, Dilwaleproved that. From doing the slow motion in ‘sooraj hua madhyam’ to ‘tukur-tukur’ this jodi never failed us to impress with their top-notch on screen chemistry. To share a bond like them is always a deep down wish for their fans which includes their bubbly friendship to tom and jerry fights.
Raja Babu ? Of course am talking about our superhit Govinda Karishma powerback couple. They are one of the most adorable couple and films like ‘Hero No. 1, Haseena Maan Jayegi, Saajan Chale Sasural’ is never going to get outdated when you need a stress buster movie. Majority of 90s children believed that they were actually married before we understood the concept of bollywood pairing. Thanks to our parents for breaking the illusion though we did not like that back then.
Last but not least, how can we forget Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla, this duo gave multiple back to back hits, they are the perfect example of bubbly-girl and chirpy-boy. Films like ‘Ishq, Tum Mere Ho, and Andaz Apna Apna’, is still iconic. ‘Qayamat se Qayamat tak’ was immediately hailed as a smash upon its premiere, instantly making them both household names. The film won 8 Filmfare Awards including best film along with best actor and actress. Till today they have seen to share a great bond which often gives us a relief in our head as imaginary real life couple.
The concept is no matter how hard bollywood tries to bring back the era of soft boy and innocent romance they are lacking the intensity of proving the fact that love can also be soft sometimes rather than entitlement. The pure feelings of slow love is missing in the era of independent love. Though we cannot do anything about the fact, we can only expect for itsy-bitsy try, tbh!
