29th March 2023, Mumbai: Liv Tyler is returning to Marvel Studios fifteen years after appearing in The Incredible Hulk, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Tyler has joined the cast of Captain America: New World Order, formerly known as Captain America 4. She will play scientist Betty Ross once more. Ross is the daughter of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, who will be represented by Harrison Ford in the upcoming film and who was previously portrayed by the late William Hurt in a number of movies.
After Iron Man introduced the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ second film, Incredible Hulk, was released in the summer of 2008. It featured Edward Norton as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, who famously left the franchise to play the role in The Avengers (2012), and was instead recasted and played by Mark Ruffalo.
Although actors from that movie have since made appearances in other productions, Tyler’s Ross was never seen again. Ross from Hurt appeared in Captain America: Civil War (2016), and Tim Roth, who portrayed the antagonist Abomination, played a significant role in the Disney+ series She-Hulk. Tim Blake Nelson, another former member of the Incredible Hulk, will also appear in New World Order.
Carl Lumbly, who previously portrayed the original super-soldier Isaiah Bradley in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Danny Ramirez, who reprises his role as Joaquin Torres from that film, and MCU newbie Shira Haas are also on the cast list. Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, is the titlular character who will be Captain America for the first time in this film.
The movie is presently filming in Atlanta under the direction of The Cloverfield Paradox director Julius Onah. The script was co-written by Dalan Musson and Winter Soldier programme creator Malcolm Spellman. The adventure thriller will be released on May 3, 2024, according to Disney/Marvel.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy by Peter Jackson, Armageddon, and 1990s classics like Empire Records are just a few examples of Tyler’s ground-breaking work from the turn of the century. She appeared in the critically acclaimed HBO series The Leftovers and the Fox drama 9-1-1: Lone Star.
