Shreya Kalra, girlfriend of Rise And Fall 2 contestant Rishabh Jaiswal, has seemingly taken a dig at actor Karan Patel after his comments about people whose lives revolve around Instagram and reels sparked a reaction. Calling out his remarks, Shreya defended reality television contestants and questioned why people look down on those who participate in such shows.

The controversy began after Karan appeared to take a dig at Rishabh and Shreya over their social media presence. Shreya later pointed out that participating in a reality show does not mean that it is the only platform contestants depend on or the only thing they do in their lives.

Reacting to the remarks, Shreya highlighted that reality show contestants have careers and professional commitments beyond television. She also pointed out the irony of criticising reality TV while being part of a reality show himself.

In her statement, Shreya wrote, “And just because we’ve participated in a reality show doesn’t mean that’s the only thing we do or the only platform we survive on. We have careers, projects, businesses and lives beyond reality television. So maybe start respecting everyone’s profession if you expect people to respect yours.”

She further questioned Karan's comments and asked why he would put down the same platform he is currently associated with.

“And honestly, stop demeaning people just because they come from reality TV. You are a part of a reality show too. So what exactly are you trying to prove by putting down the very platform you’re a part of?” she added.

Shreya also clarified that there is nothing wrong with being a reality TV contestant. According to her, the real issue is looking down on someone else's work to feel superior.

The exchange follows a recent episode of Rise And Fall 2, in which Karan commented on the couple's social media presence. During a conversation, Shreya told Rishabh that his comments were going viral on social media.
