Onler Says ‘I Have a Strong Case’
Confirming that he had taken action, Onler told Hindustan Times that he had faith in the judicial system of India.

The next hearing in the matter is scheduled for November 19. Since the case is currently being heard by the court, Onler has declined to give further details about the proceedings.
Mary Kom’s Earlier Remarks

Mary Kom claimed that her former husband had cheated her out of crores and transferred her assets into his name. She had also alleged that loans had been taken in her name.
Her statement that Onler did not earn money during their marriage, subsequently attracted a lot of attention and divided opinions among viewers.
After the controversy, Onler accused Mary Kom of having extramarital affairs. The allegations from both sides have since formed part of the dispute regarding their relationship.
Mary Kom Later Clarified Remarks
Mary Kom later issued a statement about the controversy surrounding her comments about Onler’s career as a footballer.
She said her remarks were not meant to disrespect football or people associated with the sport. Mary Kom also explained that she had been overwhelmed during the interview and had struggled to control her emotions.
She maintained that she did not intend to insult anyone through her comments.
Couple Divorced In 2023
Mary Kom and Onler married in 2005 and later divorced by mutual consent in 2023. The former couple have four children.
The latest legal proceeding takes place as Mary Kom is participating in Bigg Boss 20, which brings attention to her personal life and the relationship with Onler.
The defamation proceedings are now before the court, with the next hearing scheduled for November 19. As the matter is sub judice, further developments will be dependent on the proceedings before the judicial authorities.
