14th April,2024, Mumbai: Certain performers make an impression on our travels; for Nitin Goswami, one such actor is Irrfan Khan. The actor, who plays Parth in the television series Deewani, claims that his inspiration to pursue a career in show business came from Irrfan Khan’s films.
Nitin Goswami shares details about his past
Speaking about his past, he states, “My dad was a member of the CID police and he recently retired.” I grew up in Haryana for 21–22 years, fully entrenched in the Jat community’s culture. I watched them go about their daily lives, cultivating vegetables, milking buffalo, and making lassi. Because my dad was so strict back then, I was always surrounded by cops when I lived in the CID colony. Even though I was the oldest of my siblings, I went after my degree and went on to get an MBA. I worked as a medical representative for about 2.5 years after my cousin suggested it, hitting my goals and taking advantage of the benefits of the position,” he recalls.
Nitin Goswami was inspired by Hrithik Roshan’s look in ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’
He went on, “My cousin mentioned how good Hrithik looked, and I was impressed by his physique when I saw him in ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai.’” I mockingly remarked that although I could look like that too, my real admiration was for Irrfan Khan. I had practiced my monologues, seen his movies, and always wanted to be even half as good as him. Although Hrithik’s physique was remarkable, I was more inspired by Irrfan Khan’s acting. Even if I could only become 1% of the actor he was, that would still be my goal. This dream lingered with me even though I never told anyone about it. When I finally worked up the guts to tell my father about my goals, I was shocked to hear that he thought I should pursue them in Mumbai. I relocated to Mumbai and started my acting career with his help. I was first nervous, but I eventually gained confidence by going to auditions and working hard to hone my abilities. My formal training began when I happened upon a free acting course chance one day following a successful audition. From then on, I kept pushing myself, experimenting with various parts and progressively honing my technique. My initial success came from a Sagar Picture Arts-produced mythological programme.
Nitin Goswami’s Remarkable Projects
The projects he has so far had, he claims, are a blessing. “After making my debut as a negative character in “Qubool Hai,” I was cast as a parallel lead in “Sarojini,” starring alongside Mohit Sehgal and Pankaj Tripathi. After that, I played a prominent role opposite Shabir Ahluwalia in “Kumkum Bhagya,” where I played another bad character. I later had the chance to star as the primary character in “Siddhivinayak” and then made an appearance in “Gathbandhan.” I had two appearances in the 2016 web series Hasraten and the movie Badmashiyan. In addition to these ventures, I’ve been actively involved in a number of other endeavours. Right now, I’m working on the television series “Deewani,” he says.
