Krishna G Rao, a veteran Kannada actor best known for his flawless performance in Yash’s KGF: Chapter 1, died on Wednesday. According to reports, the actor was admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru for age-related illness. He was treated in the hospital’s intensive care unit for a lung infection.
Despite this, Krishna was unable to survive and died on Wednesday evening. Sandalwood fans are mourning his death on social media.
In the first instalment of the KGF franchise, Krishna G Rao was seen playing the titular character of a blind man before the fight scene in which hero Yash crushes the villains of Narachi.
Krishna had been in the industry for many years and had acted in many Sandalwood films in supporting roles, as well as reportedly working as an assistant director for many decades, even with late actor Shankar Nag. However, it is the KGF, in which he played the role of an elderly blind man, that catapulted him to fame for his memorable dialogues.
Following the first and second instalments, the KGF franchise has announced the third instalment. KGF 3 has received a lot of attention from moviegoers. While it was assumed that the sequel would begin filming soon, the producers informed us that the project will not begin filming anytime soon.
KGF’s official Twitter page paid tribute to Krishna, writing, “The Hombale film team extends condolences on the death of Krishna G Rao, affectionately known as Tata by KGF fans. Shanti Om.”
