This legacy of entertainment is clearly reflected in IMDb’s recent yearly recap, which highlights the Top 10 Most Popular Indian Series for each year from 2016 to 2026. Prime Video Dominates IMDb’s Top Indian Series Rankings

The journey began in 2017 with the sports drama Inside Edge, which started the platform's streak of hit shows. By 2018, Prime Video solidified its hold on the audience with the release of Mirzapur, alongside popular hits like Inside Edge and Breathe. The momentum only grew stronger in 2019, as The Family Man and Made in Heaven joined Mirzapur to impress audiences across the nation.

As streaming became more popular amongst viewers, Prime Video continued to raise the bar. In 2020, the platform delivered a lineup featuring Mirzapur, the critically acclaimed Paatal Lok, the wholesome rural comedy Panchayat, and Breathe: Into the Shadows. The following years cemented these titles as timeless classics, with The Family Man, Mirzapur, and Panchayat repeatedly holding top spots on IMDb’s annual charts through 2021 and 2022.

The release of Farzi in 2023 introduced a fresh flavor to the platform, taking the top rankings alongside Mirzapur. In 2024, Prime Video showed its scale by dominating the charts with Mirzapur, Panchayat, Farzi, and the global franchise extension Citadel: Honey Bunny.

Continuing this streak into 2025, returns of The Family Man, Panchayat, Paatal Lok, and Mirzapur, alongside Khauf, ensured Prime Video remained the go-to platform for Indian entertainment. Taking this momentum into 2026, Prime Video has once again dominated viewer interest with a slate featuring Sapne Vs Everyone, Raakh, Adarsh Baal Vidyalaya, and Mirzapur.

By consistently delivering originals that top IMDb’s annual lists year after year, Prime Video keeps setting benchmark after benchmark for storytelling that truly resonates with the hearts of viewers.
