Mumbai is regarded as the Mayanagri or the city of dreams. It is truly a dream that millions of people see with open eyes. However, not everyone makes it to the top. Many return without even experiencing fame, name, or money. Even though we know the struggles of many superstars, those who fail to make it in the entertainment industry remain untold.
Meet Jeetendra Kumar or popularly known as Kumarjeet. An aspiring actor from a small town in Bihar who finally launched his own production house after struggling for around seven years in Mumbai.
Jeetendra Kumar was born in the Champaran district of Bihar. He grew up along with his four brothers in a family of six members. Jeetendra’s father is a farmer and his mother is a homemaker. He completed his primary education in his village itself. Jeetendra’s father wanted him to become a doctor but like many young children in Bihar, he too wanted to crack UPSC. Jeetendra dreamt of becoming a civil servant.
Jeetendra’s father was having a hard time managing a family of six. His dream was shattered into pieces. Jeetendra had to let go of his plans of cracking UPSC. But little did he know that destiny had planned something bigger and better for him.
Jeetendra completed ITI in the Private sector and then he started searching for jobs in foreign countries. In 2008, Jeetendra went to Mumbai for an Interview. However, he could not pass the interview. Finally, in 2009, Jeetendra passed through the Interview and landed a job in the fabrication sector in the Gulf country.
Jeetendra was doing well for himself in the Gulf country. In 3 years, he got 4 promotions with a good salary package. However, after some years of working monotonously, Jeetendra decided to take a big step. He decided to resign from his company and come back to Mumbai in 2013 to try in the film Industry.
The initial years were very stressful for Jeetendra. He got himself enrolled in acting and dance classes to work on his skills. Somehow, the time was just not in his favor. There were days that Jeetendra had a tough time to even afford a proper meal for himself.
After almost a year in Mumbai, Jeetendra started getting offers for small roles but he had bigger dreams. He rejected the small roles dreaming of a better opportunity. Meanwhile, back in his hometown Jeetendra’s father was upset about him leaving the job and struggling in Mumbai. Jeetendra had no support from his family.
Jeetendra realized he could no longer survive in Mumbai, so he decided to start some side business there. He began exploring a variety of works. Jeetendra tried casting, and direction, and even worked in many small production houses. His focus shifted from acting, now he started enjoying working behind the camera.
In 2014, Jeetendra finally launched his studio. He produced several movies and web series in different languages from his studio. Everything was great until the COVID pandemic hit the world. Jeetendra faced a huge loss in his business and at one time he almost felt suicidal. The love and support from his family gave him the power to start all over again.
Jeetendra’s existing studio was dismantled from its original location. He gathered courage and again decided to build his empire from scratch. Jeetendra build another Post production studio and named it AK Square Sound.
Jeetendra said, “It is my responsibility to work hard with total honesty. I have no control over what will happen in the future, but I am certain that if I am honest and dedicated to the almighty, everything will work out better.”
