30th March 2023, Mumbai: Although Taylor Swift is in the middle of performing songs from every decade of her career on weekends for the first few weeks of the Eras Tour, she didn’t hold back when accepting the Innovator Award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. We knew she was trouble when she walked in, is her Reputation themed outfit an Easter eggs for her fans? Afterall we fans remember All Too Well that the singer/songwriter has a penchant for encoding secret messages is various places for us to find.
With a Gorgeous two-piece Alexandre Vauthier ensemble consisting of a hooded, long-sleeved top (complete with an asymmetrical skirt, tight waist, and plunging V-neckline) and matching pantaboots, the singer appeared at the star-studded awards ceremony on Monday looking Enchanted as always. Swift definitely has Style! She wore her blonde hair straight down with her forehead fringe on full view, and her sole jewellery was a scattering of gold KatKim rings.
Taylor’s makeup was fairly straightforward, consisting of a silver dark-lined smoky eye, a pink lip, and black chrome nails to match her dark outfit. She also ditched her previous Eras-themed manicure.
While the outfit stood out on its own, keen-eyed Swift fans couldn’t help but note the similarities between it and the black-sequin-covered hooded bodysuit she wore during her Reputation Tour in 2018, which led many to speculate that Swift’s Reputation may soon be re-recorded.
During the iHeartRadio Music Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Monday, Swift’s close friend Phoebe Bridgers presented her with the Innovator award. The award hasn’t been granted from 2019 till this occasion.
Taylor Swift was introduced by Bridgers, who also praised the singer’s work, stating she was “grateful to have grown up in a world with Taylor Swift in it, or The World (Taylor’s Version).”
“You must allow yourself to make mistakes. I make every effort to avoid failing since it’s embarrassing, but I let myself to. Make the decisions that are good for you, she said, and someday someone may consider you inventive”, Swift said in her acceptance speech.
After Bridgers, the programme featured a potent sizzle reel of famous people praising the musician, including Simon Biles, Dolly Parton, Justin Timberlake, Ed Sheeran, Simu Liu, and Selena Gomez.
One of the greatest pop songs ever written, according to Sheeran, is “Anti-Hero.” “She sings her stories, and I believe that is now the standard”, the Bad Habits singer added. Selena Gomez continued, “She can so well represent what she’s going through. Being a role model isn’t something you sign up for; I think that’s something Taylor intrinsically has inside of her.”
Swift was nominated for a staggering seven prizes this year. Her song “Anti-Hero” is up for Song of the Year, Best Lyrics, and Best Music Video, while she is nominated for Artist of the Year and Greatest Fan Army. Both “Question…?” and “Bejeweled” by Midnights are vying for TikTok Bop of the Year and Favorite Usage of a Sample awards. Swift’s own song “Out of the Woods” is sampled.
