7 June 2023, Mumbai: The title of Captain America’s fourth film has just changed. Tuesday, Anthony Mackie released a shot from the shoot with co-star Harrison Ford and revealed the new title and logo to fans.
Anthony Mackie on Tuesday announced the new title and logo for the fourth installment of the Captain America franchise amid rumours that the film’s working title, “Captain America: New World Order,” will be changed.
Harrison Ford was first seen by fans on the set in an Instagram picture by Mackie, who also revealed the film’s new title, Captain America: Brave New World. Sharing a picture of himself dressed as Sam Wilson, a.k.a. Captain America, Mackie and Ford seemed to be chatting up a storm; Ford recently joined the MCU as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, taking over for Oscar winner William Hurt, who died in March at the age of 71.
“Listen when Harrison Ford tells you how a badass should appear! LoL… Many thanks for the wise advice and good times, dear friend! Can’t wait to do it once more… Captian America: Brave New World from Marvel Studios will hit theatres on May 3, 2024,” he wrote in the photo’s description.
Brave New World is reportedly the title of the 2017 Secret Empire comics, in which Captain America was revealed to be Hydra’s Supreme Leader. It’s still unknown if the movie will entirely depict the comic book’s plot or only parts of it.
It appears that not all Marvel fanatics are pleased by this change. Some think that the working title was much better, while other argues that the new title is “unoriginal”. The comment thread on Anthony Mackie’s posts, and subsequent other reposts, were flooded with opinions regarding the change.
Mackie will play the role Captain America for the first time in this movie. In the popular Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, he adopted the role of Captain America.
The release date for Captain America: Brave New World is set for May 3, 2024.
