Meghna Gulzar's 'Daayra' Actor Upendra Chauhan Says Every Celebrity Story Needs Drama to Connect

In a recent conversation on The Filmy Charcha Podcast, host Rahul Varun sat with Upendra Chauhan who will be seen in Meghna Gulzar's upcoming crime drama Daayra. Instead of calling life difficult, the actor shared a different view about struggle. According to the actor, life becomes meaningful because of challenges. During the podcast, he explained why success stories become memorable and why people always connect with honest storytelling.

When Rahul Varun asked about his industry journey, Upendra Chauhan smiled and sai d "Bahut maza aa raha hai yaar. Struggle jaisi cheez bahut negative word ho gaya hai. Struggle to nahi hai. Maza hai. Learning hai. Kaam hai. Kar rahe hain." He added "Bina struggle ke koi life thodi hai." To explain his point, the actor gave an example of a cup and said "Is cup ki existence uske andar aur bahar lagne wale force ki wajah se hai. Agar ye struggle nahi hoga to existence nahi hogi." He further said "Hum hain to maza hai. Struggle hai to maza hai. Nahi to maza thodi hai."

Talking about famous success stories the actor shared "Jab se insaan hai tab se kahaniyan hain. Bina kahani ke jeene mein maza nahi hai." According to him everyone is living a different story and people celebrate celebrities because "Uski kahani mein kuch maza hona chahiye. Kuch utaar chadhav hone chahiye." The actor also said social media has increased comparison among people. However he believes stories still inspire. He thinks this because they reflect dreams and struggles with emotions that many people relate to.

The Daayra actor admitted that he cannot say whether every celebrity story is fully true but he believes the biggest purpose is to engage people. In his words "Agar kahani mazedaar hai na to mere hisaab se usne insaaf kiya hai. Sunne wale ko maza aana chahiye." He continued "Sab log mar jayenge. Agar kisi point par sunne wale ne us kahani ka maza le liya to is aadmi ne apne hisse ki seva kar di." He also added "Kahani mazedaar honi chahiye. Believable bhi honi chahiye."

Speaking about his own life, the actor revealed "Meri life mein aisa nahi hai ki main platform pe soya tha. Meri kahani kuch aur hai." However he joked "Usme agar masala na lagaya jaye to maza nahi aayega. Phir kahe ke celebrity yaar." Upendra Chauhan ended the discussion by saying people naturally enjoy listening to someone who can make ordinary moments interesting. "Main cup utha ke yahan rakh doon to kya maza. Lekin kahun itna garam cup kisne rakh diya tha to maza aa gaya. Main interesting baat bataun jisme kuch masala ho. Izzatdari bhi apna apna perspective hai."
