19th May 2023, Mumbai: Prepare to be on the edge of your seat this weekend as the nail-biting thriller “Blurr,” starring the talented Tapsee Pannu, is set to have its World Television Premiere on Saturday at 9:30 p.m. exclusively on &pictures. Directed by Ajay Bahl, known for his work on “Section 375,” “Blurr” also marks Tapsee’s first venture into production and features a young and energetic cast, including Gulshan Devaiah and Abhilash Thapliyal.
An official remake of the Spanish film “Julia’s Eyes,” “Blurr” revolves around Gayatri, portrayed by Tapsee, who embarks on a challenging journey to uncover the truth behind her visually impaired twin sister Gautami’s death. As time ticks away, Gayatri finds herself losing her own vision. Will she be able to identify her sister’s murderer? Or will she fall victim while being pursued? Are there betrayals lurking within her own circle? “Blurr” takes viewers on an unpredictable roller coaster ride, with surprising twists and spine-tingling suspense that will keep the audience on their toes.
Throughout the movie, Tapsee delivers a nuanced and layered performance, allowing the audience to witness different facets of her character as the story unfolds. Gulshan, portraying Tapsee’s husband in the film, delivers a subtle yet powerful performance, showcasing his remarkable acting abilities. Abhilash exceeds expectations with his portrayal of an edgy and eccentric character.
Expressing his thoughts on the film, Gulshan Devaiah shared, “Blurr is a psychological thriller that will give you the chills of a horror film. There are no ghosts, but the visuals and sound create a haunting atmosphere. While ‘Blurr’ is a remake of the Spanish film ‘Julia’s Eyes,’ I intentionally avoided watching the original because as an actor, preconceived notions can hinder your performance. I prefer staying true to the director’s vision, and our director, Ajay Bahl, was clear about his vision for the film. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Tapsee Pannu. She is an exceptional actor, and her transition to a producer for this film is commendable. With the world television premiere on &pictures, I am excited for audiences to watch our film.”
Abhilash Thapliyal, who plays a pivotal role in the film, shared his experience, saying, “My character in ‘Blurr’ has been one of the most challenging roles I have portrayed due to the layers and complexity of the character. I had limited time to prepare for the role as I was initially finalized for another part in the film. However, Ajay Sir offered me this role later on. At one point, I became so deeply invested in the character that it took an emotional toll on me. Credit goes to Ajay Sir, who pushed me to deliver my best performance. I also had a wonderful experience collaborating with Tapsee and Gulshan. I have previously worked with Tapsee, and we share a bond beyond work. She is a phenomenal actor who provides great support to her co-stars. ‘Blurr’ received a positive response on OTT platforms, and I hope the audience will have a similar reaction when they watch it on &pictures.”
