Actress Tanushree Kaushal, who is currently seen in the Channa Mereya and plays Ginnie’s mother Gulabo, says that she loves being part of the project. The actress adds that the show’s title is also very close to her heart.
“Channya Mereya is very Punjabi, it’s about love and it reminds me of the song. My character Gulabo is a loving mother who works hard at the dhaba and is proud of Ginni. It is very close to the show of mine, Nadaan Parindey,” she says.
Talking about working with the team of the show, she says, “It has a big cast, all the members are very professional and like one family. The producers, Yash and Mamta Patnaik are very dear to me and great producers. They see to it that all the actors are comfortable and even the whole unit.”
The actress adds that the storyline is what will keep the audience engaged. “Such unique storylines do attract great audiences as opposites attract. This show has its own charm,” she says.
Tanushree, meanwhile, talks about all that has changed in the industry over the years. “Well, the changes are always there; technically cameras are more improved and that improves the look of the show. Standards have improved and especially the PR of the show,” she says.
Even while OTT is doing well, daily soaps on the small screen will always have their audience, says the actress. “The women of the house have the only entertainment after doing household chores. There are fixed audiences for their liked shows and famous characters and for the women at home they literally wait for the telecast and even discuss their sarees and jewellery on the show. Just imagine nothing goes unnoticed,” she says.
