In addition to being a popular host, Kapil Sharma, who began his career as a comic, is now an accomplished actor. Some of the biggest stars in the business have been on his comedy show, The Kapil Sharma Show, which has been broadcast on Sony Entertainment Television. Akshay Kumar, who recently attended the show to promote his movie Selfie, is a superstar. While the actor has frequently attended the show, this time he was especially happy to get to know Janak Rani, the comedian’s mother, and even got her to divulge some details about Kapil’s early years.
Kapil’s mother was encouraged by Akshay Kumar to talk about the comedian’s youth. He asked her in Punjabi, “Would you ask him to make people laugh and entertain them when he was a kid and when visitors came to your home? How would he act? In response, Kapil Sharma’s mother insisted that her son was not a mischievous child. Akshay responded with astonishment. No one in the world is naughty if he isn’t, the saying goes. Everyone was shocked by his comment, but his mother recalled a day when Kapil was a young boy.
She disclosed that Kapil used to place ‘pudiya’ i.e packets outside the homes of his neighbours at night while everyone is asleep. They would be scared of it because they thought it was “black magic” and would wonder who did it in the morning.
In the tv promo, Kapil Sharma also enquired about the first movie his mother saw with his father. She recalled seeing the movie ‘Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki’ back in 1978. She talked about how watching it at night at the time made her feel rather anxious. “I felt he was quite attractive, but I wasn’t that attractive,” she said. “I was worried that he might shove me in the dark and murder me when he took me out at night to watch the movie,” she said in jest. Definitely, her interaction with Akshay Kumar had everyone in splits.
