Review
What works?
The first half of the movie is an absolute rollercoaster ride and teases viewers’ emotional continuum. There are several high points in the film and the contagious energy of the artist reflects on the viewers. The movie offers a very close look at the life of Louis Tomlinson. Throughout the movie, the 31 year old artist has been absolutely open and vulnerable. The movie authentically presents his own struggle with confidence, self esteem and a little bit of anxiety; traits that are often assumed to be non-existent in ‘celebrities’. The artist is known to be very authentic and real, and that makes his experiences seem very relatable to the audience and hits hard.
The movie also includes his family members and their take on all the things he has been through. This offers the viewer a perspective about what those experiences looked like from the outside, from someone who was not Louis Tomlinson. The family has also shared their take on the devastating experiences they collectively had to face as a family and how he still continued to be resilient in the face of adversities.
The ‘Faith In the Future’ singer also sheds light on co-parenting and how he tries to find time for his son, who is 7. The movie also includes some very emotional and beautiful moments that are reflective of the bond he shares with his kid.
The most Interesting part of the movie is that the movie offers a very clear picture of the artist, even for a person who is not a supposed fan of Louis Tomlinson. The movie highlights his personality and how different events have shaped him.
Louis Tomlinson has a lot to offer, musically, to the entire world and this movie beautifully sums up all the love he has for his job and of course, his fans. The artist has always been vocal and appreciative of the support and love his fans have always shown him and the movie is just a testament of the mutual love between Louis and his fans.
Louis Tomlinson’s story is an inspiring narrative; if it had actors, it would almost make the plot of a Hollywood movie. The flow of the movie is smooth and works well, even for the general population.
What doesn’t work
The second part of the movie is full of scenes from his live shows, which for the general population, can get a bit monotonous. Apart from that, the movie works on every aspect.
Overall review
All Of Those Voices beautifully narrates the struggles of an artist. This is a story of how Louis Tomlinson learned to not listen to all the voices that told him that he wouldn’t make it, that he would never win. It is an inspiring story of how the artist chose to listen to his inner voice and rose to become what he has become today. It is not wrong to say that this is a story of an artist who was uplifted by the fans, for all the right reasons and where, for a change, the artist is grateful to them.
It’s a story of very real experiences and very real emotions and beautifully showcases what it takes to make it in the world. In essence, ‘All Of Those Voices’ is a story of how Louis Tomlinson became Louis Tomlinson.
