20th March, Mumbai: Daughter of the famous Indian film actor Rajinikanth, Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth, reported that her locker had been robbed and her gold and diamond jewellery worth approximately Rs 3.60 lakh (equivalent to approximately $4,800 USD) had been stolen. The theft was discovered last month, after which Aishwaryaa filed a complaint with the Teynampet police. The police are currently investigating the matter.
In her lawsuit, Aishwarya claimed that she had worn the jewellery at her sister Soundarya’s 2019 wedding and had stored it in a locker. Her house helpers allegedly knew where the locker was because it had been moved three times in 2021
According to Aishwaryaa’s statement, the keys to her locker were kept at her residence in St Mary’s Road, Chennai, even when the locker was moved to her estranged husband Dhanush’s CIT Nagar home and subsequently to her own house in Poes Garden
Aishwaryaa filed a FIR (First Information Report) in February after realising that her jewellery collection, which she had been accumulating since she wed Dhanush, was missing from her locker. The stolen goods, which were thought to be worth a large sum of money, included diamond sets, ancient gold objects, Navaratnam sets, bangles, and about 60 sovereigns of gold.
According to the report, Aishwaryaa expressed suspicion towards her maids Eashwari and Lakshmi, as well as her driver Venkat. She reportedly stated that they had visited her St Mary’s apartment on several occasions while she was not present.
According to the information provided, the Teynampet Police have filed a case under section 381 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and have initiated an investigation.
