Everybody’s life involves music in some way. It relieves stress and lifts our spirits. Songs and their lyrics enable us to verbally communicate our feelings and thoughts, which we frequently find difficult to do. Because of this, we grow to love select songs and they become our all-time favourites.
Remaking some songs can add another flavour to it but, have you ever thought if it will destroy the classic songs that were made better originally? People today still listen to the 90’s music for its evergreen vibe that no other generation could ever give. It is very difficult in a way to match the level of the music that got into making during one of the most shiny era of the bollywood.
Many singers and musicians intend to re-create the 90’s music. It might get them out a good result, even better. But maybe, just for themselves. Singers are known for their very taste and craft in music. But that doesn’t them out of the controversies that take place due to recreation of music.
Today, B-Praak, A well-known singer and musician who has given some of the biggest hits to the punjabi music industry and some for the Bollywood as well, announced his version (remake) of the classic song ‘Acha Sila Diya Tune Mere Pyaar Ka’ by Sonu Nigam which is now entitled as ‘Wafaa Bewafaa’ for the B-praak’s version. The Music video is yet again backed by T-series and will feature Rajkummar Rao and Nora Fatehi in the music video.

Some time ago, a controversy took place when Falguni Pathak’s song was remade by Neha Kakkar. B-Praak said during that time, there is a formula to crack when making remakes: “It’s about connection and how you get your audience to connect with the song. What also matters is who is doing the remake and how they are treating the original song. Some people have their own ambitions with a song, and some successfully manage to connect with the audience.”
Tanishk Bagchi, a well-known music composer was in radar of the listners since the past few years as he had been giving his inputs in recreation of many songs that people didn’t find appropriate. Masakali, an original compostion of the legendary A.R. Rahman was re-created by him, Mere Angne Mein, Saki Saki, Chatur Naar, Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Gazab Ka Hai Din, Chamma Chamma, Zilla Hilela, Ek Toh Kum Zindagani, Ankhiyon Se Goli Maare, Jhalak Dikhlaja Reloaded, The Humma Song, are jist some to name and many more like these which got him massive backlash in the past few years.
Sadly, earlier, Badshah came under fire from detractors for allegedly plagiarising and misinterpreting Ratan Kahar’s Bengali folk song “Boro loker biti lo” in his most recent video. To his credit, Badshah contacted the seasoned folk musician and provided financial assistance.
Lets just wait and watch what does B-Praak bring to the table. It will only be known once the music is out in public. We just hope it does justice to the original one because people are already tired of asking to stop recreating iconic old songs as they have fond memories and emotions attached to them!
