7th June 2023, Mumbai: Music composer Puneet Dixit reveals an intriguing story behind the creation of the first song for the film “1920: The Horrors of the Heart.” He credits producer Mahesh Bhatt for giving the song its title during a media launch interview. Bhatt’s response to a question about Sadak 2, saying, “Woh kahani phir kabhi” (That story will be told another time), inspired the song’s title. Titled “Woh Kahani Phir Kabhi,” the track features vocals by Papon and lyrics by Shweta Bothra, embodying both a touch of nostalgia and fresh elements.
Puneet acknowledges the valuable contributions of Mahesh Bhatt and Vikram Bhatt during the songwriting process. He shares that while having conversations and readings with Bhatt, they often receive impactful lines and punchlines that become the foundation of their songs. Puneet expresses his gratitude to Bhatt and Vikram Bhatt for their creative input and praises their ability to infuse emotion and depth into the song. He describes “Woh Kahani Phir Kabhi” as a beautiful and emotional composition that harkens back to the bygone era of Bollywood music.
During the recording of the song, both Mahesh Bhatt and Vikram Bhatt were present, adding a unique dynamic to the creative process. Puneet emphasizes the positive energy and strong aura that Bhatt brings, which energizes the entire team. He appreciates the presence of both directors, as their input and visions provide valuable support and learning opportunities. Puneet cherishes the moments shared with them, as they not only bring their expertise but also share memories and experiences, fostering a collaborative environment.
While “1920: The Horrors of the Heart” falls under the horror genre, Puneet highlights that emotions were given top priority when selecting the music. The film revolves around an emotional story between a daughter and mother, with horror elements woven in. Puneet explains that he designed a song called “Lori” with a horror theme, but even that track carries deep emotional undertones. Renowned singer Shreya Ghoshal lends her vocals to “Lori.” Puneet’s aim was to create a balance where the audience experiences both fear-inducing moments and a profound emotional connection.
Reflecting on the feedback received for the song and teaser, Puneet expresses his satisfaction with the positive response so far. The recently released teaser and officially launched song have garnered brilliant feedback, instilling confidence in the song’s success. Puneet eagerly awaits the audience’s response and hopes they will appreciate the song and its alignment with the film’s emotional essence.
