18th March, Mumbai: KRK’s Tweet Calling Manoj Bajpayee ‘Charsi and Ganjedi’ .On March 16, an arrest warrant was issued by the Indore district court for Kamal Rashid Khan, also known as KRK, for failing to appear in a defamation case filed against him by actor Manoj Bajpayee.
KRK is a film producer and actor who has been involved in various controversies in the Indian film industry. The case was filed by Manoj Bajpayee after KRK allegedly made defamatory remarks against him on social media.
Arrest Warrant Issued for KRK in Manoj Bajpayee Defamation Case over Allegations of Drug Addiction”
In 2021, KRK allegedly referred to actor Manoj Bajpayee as a drug addict in a series of tweets, leading to a defamation lawsuit filed against him. On Thursday, the Judicial Magistrate First Class issued an arrest warrant against KRK for failing to appear in court, and the case’s next hearing was deferred to May 10. Bajpayee’s lawyer, Paresh Joshi, had pursued the case against KRK for the actor’s alleged defamatory remarks.
KRK’s lawyer stated that since he had submitted a petition to the Supreme Court, the case against him ought to have been dismissed.
In August 2021, actor Manoj Bajpayee filed a criminal complaint against KRK under IPC section 500 in the court of judicial magistrate first class for allegedly defaming him on social media. The section pertains to punishment for defamation. The recent arrest warrant issued against KRK is related to the same case.
In July 2021, KRK posted a tweet in which he allegedly referred to actor Manoj Bajpayee as a ‘Charsi’ (drug addict) and ‘Ganjedi’ (marijuana addict) during his purported review of the web series “The Family Man,” which starred Bajpayee. This tweet led Bajpayee to initiate legal action against KRK for defamation. The recent arrest warrant issued against KRK by the Indore district court is a result of Bajpayee’s defamation suit against him.
