25th February, Mumbai: Today, Gap opens its first freestanding store in India with Reliance Retail Limited, The launch of this Gap store marks a milestone in the long-term partnership between Reliance Retail Limited and Gap Inc., through which Reliance Retail is the official retailer for Gap across all channels in India.
The new Gap store was inaugurated by famous singer and composer, Guru Randhawa. Guru set the tone for the evening with some of his iconic songs like Lahore, Ban Ja tu Meri Rani and Moonshine. Guru Randhawa was accompanied by Akhilesh Prasad, President & CEO, Fashion & Lifestyle from Reliance Retail Ltd, Adrienne Gernand, Head of International, Global Licensing and Wholesale, runs Gap Inc. franchise and strategic alliances business, and Facundo Ginobili, Vice President of Strategy, Business Development and Account Management, Gap Inc. at the store on the first floor for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
After opening over 50 Gap shop-in-shops since last year, the new Gap store in Infiniti Mall marks the beginning of the second phase of the launch, which will include a series of freestanding store openings across the country in the coming months. Gap Infiniti Mall will serve as the fullest expression of the brand featuring denim, logo products, khakis and modern essentials for the family across women, men, kids and babies.
