28th February,2024, Mumbai: The well-known actor Mukul Chadda shared some fascinating details about his experience filming the next feature film “Fairy Folk,” which is scheduled to open in theatres on March 1. The film, which is helmed by Karan Gour, is expected to take viewers by surprise with its distinct storytelling style.
Filming “Fairy Folk” was not like any other movie song, says Mukul Chadda
Mukul Chadda reveals that filming “Fairy Folk” was not like any other movie he had worked on, defying traditional filming techniques. He says, “Some of the takes were really long—up to 25 minutes!” It was as though I was performing in a fully unplanned play or going back to theatre.”Mukul Chadda and co-star Rasika Dugal were given carte blanche by director Karan Gour to improvise scenes for prolonged periods of time without breaking the rhythm. Mukul reflects on his time spent in theatre, comparing the experience to a fluid theatrical production in which the story is told continuously for the benefit of both the audience and the artists.
For an actor, Karan Gour’s freedom to navigate situations without constant cuts is quite freeing. It felt like a journey where we were living the lives of our characters and learning about them via the film. We also shot scenes in the same order as you will see them. And I believe that an impromptu method produces something that is true and intuitively instinctual “says Mukul.
