Actor Arhaan Khan began his journey in the entertainment industry at a young age. While many people know him for his television work and his stint on Bigg Boss 13, his career actually started with modelling when he was just 15 years old. Looking back, he says he never planned to become an actor.
“I started my journey as a model when I was around 15. I have done more than 400 fashion shows. I also did print ads, hoardings and shoots for different brands. I walked for several designers as well,” he says.
Arhaan says modelling was always his first choice when he came to Mumbai. Acting happened when he received an offer for a South Indian film during his modelling days.
“When I came to Bombay, I always wanted to be a model. I never wanted to become an actor. During my modelling journey, I got an offer for a South film. It was a big film, big title, and I could not refuse it, so I signed it,” he shares.
That film opened the door to more opportunities. He later joined the television show Bado Bahu, which ran for three years, followed by other projects, films and Bigg Boss 13.
Talking about how his journey unfolded, Arhaan says, “After that film, I got an offer for Bado Bahu. I did that show, then worked in South films, and Bigg Boss happened soon after. Later, more films came my way. By the grace of God, work kept coming.”
For him, the focus was always on working and building his career rather than limiting himself to one format. He says he has generally been open to taking up opportunities if the work feels right.
“I wanted to work and earn money. Living in Mumbai is expensive, so whenever work came my way, I would take it up. I believe every opportunity has helped me move forward in the industry. Even today, if something comes to me and I feel it is the right work, I do it,” he says.
