The new Netflix series CAT contains sprinklings of Bollywood fairy dust and Punjabi soil. Balwinder Singh Janjua brings rich local detail and a rootedness missing from outside productions to a familiar story of a police informant worming his way up the food chain of a drug operation.
Kavya Thapar, who made her Bollywood debut in ‘Middle-Class Love,’ spoke about her experience working on the web series ‘CAT’ with Randeep Hooda. She also shed some light on enduring a ligament tear in order to play a “crazy” character in it.
During an interview when Kavya Thapar was questioned about her character in CAT whether it’s difficult or easy for her so she said that “Kimmy she is a wild, crazy, fun… apna karne wali ladki jo ki bahut bigdel hoti hai, kyunki auske maa Punjab ki politician hoti h, all the luxury, expenses se bahar.. koi rok tok nahi hai auski zindagi mein.. koi father ka saya nahi hai..koi ausko dekhta nahi hai toh, she does what she want without any fear or consequences, to ye character raha hai and obviously she is also a college going 19 or 20 year old girls jisko life experiences itne nahi hai or kafi immature se hai , auska jo life ka soch hai wo thoda childish hai.. to I think mujhse compare krungi to ye kafi alag character hai.. pa mai agar apne 17-18 year Kavya s compare karungi to shayad thodi si similarity ho sakti hai..”
Kavya Thapar is well-known in the South Indian film industry. She has appeared in films such as Ee Maaya Peremito (Telugu), Market Raja MBBS (Tamil), and Ek Mini Katha (Hindi) (Telugu). Kavya made her Bollywood debut earlier this year with the sweet film Middle-Class Love, and her performance in it was also praised. Kavya is currently receiving praise for her performance in Netflix’s CAT.
Watching web series instead of daily shows is the new normal, and due to the variety of content, Netflix is forging its own distinct identity in this field. Netflix and chill are mandatory for today’s youth, whether it’s a sleepless night or a weekend. Netflix now produces its own original web series, and the most recent releases are also available on the channel, rendering old dish connections obsolete.
