Let’s take our eyes at the new movies and shows that are coming to streaming platforms this week as November comes to a close and we approach the last month of the year. Along with Christmas movies, this week also sees the release of the Bollywood movies Freddy and Qala. Babil Khan, the son of the late Bollywood star Irrfan Khan, makes his acting debut in Qala.

The psychological suspense film starring Tripti Dimri takes place in 1940s Kolkata. The movie, which is billed as being about a young playback singer, explores how her terrible past comes up with her at the height of her well-earned success. Qala, which was directed by Anvitaa Dutta and was made by Clean Slate Filmz, also stars Babil Khan, Swastika Mukherjee, and Amit Sial.

A palaeontologist battles to prevent an ancient troll from wreaking deadly havoc in the Norwegian horror movie. The modern-day Norwegian setting of the Scandinavian folktale adaptation Troll brings an ancient beast to life.
• Freddy on Disney plus Hotstar
Debute on : December 2
The thriller starring Kartik Aaryan is scheduled for a straight OTT release. The film, which was directed by Shashanka Ghosh, centres on a shy dentist who turns murderous at night. Aaryan had claimed that he and Freddy had the possibility to explore a brand-new persona.
• Goodbye on Netflix
Debute on : December 2
The family drama, which hit theatres in October, tells the touching story of the Bhalla family’s journey following the death of a loved one. In addition to Amitabh Bachchan, Rashmika Mandanna, and Neena Gupta, the movie also stars Pavail Gulati, Elli Avram, and Sunil Grover.
• India Lockdown on ZEE5
Debute on : December 2
The Madhur Bhandarkar-directed film, which is based on actual events, tells the tales of four people and how the Covid-19 outbreak and ensuing lockdown affected their lives. In the movie, Prateik Babbar plays a migrant worker. Aahana Kumra, Shweta Basu Prasad, and Sai Tamhankar are also included in India Lockdown.
• Lady Chatterley’s Lover on Netflix
Debute on : December 2
The film, which stars Emma Corrin, Jack O’Connell, and Mathew Duckett in the lead roles, is an adaptation of the same-titled steamy novel by D.H. Lawrence. The Netflix movie, which is one of the most eagerly awaited releases this week, is the first feature-length adaptation of the book in more than 20 years. The book, which was first published in 1928 and was later prohibited in the UK due to its explicit depiction of female sexuality and pleasure, was called “obscene.”
• Moving in with Malaika on Hotstar and Disney
Debute on : December 5
Malaika Arora, an actress and model, will make her OTT debut with the show that offers a glimpse into her life. Her family and close friends will make cameos in the show based on her life, giving viewers a glimpse into the star’s history and present through uncensored dialogues.
• A Christmas Carol: Scrooge on Netflix
Debute on : December 2
Ebenezer Scrooge is the central character in the animated musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic story, who is given one more opportunity to make amends for his past transgressions. The musical features Olivia Colman as The Ghost of Christmas Past and Luke Evans as Scrooge.
