29th March 2023, Mumbai: Cha Eun Woo, a member of K-pop boy band ASTRO and a popular actor, is said to have opted out of an upcoming crime drama called “Bulk” (literal translation from korean). According to reports on March 28, an official from Sanai Pictures, who is said to be in charge of the show’s production, informed the press of Cha Eun Woo’s officially leaving the show as cast member. The reason for his decision has not been revealed so far.
Cha Eun Woo’s departure has been confirmed through a call stating that it is true that the actor has left the project. The drama will be airing on an OTT platform tells the story of a policeman, a prosecutor and a “corrector”. Cha Eun Woo’s character is said to be the protagonist who takes on the crimes of the bad world by eliminating them along with the other two characters. Actors Jo Woo Jin and Ha Yoon Kyung are said to have joined the cast, with the former actor playing a veteran acting officer, with popular actress “Extraordinary Attorney” Woo taking on the role of public servant, a prosecutor.
“Money” fame director Park Noo Ri is said to be behind the production. Meanwhile, Sanai Pictures has high expectations thanks to their previous successful works, which include films such as “New World”, “The Spy Gone North”, “The Shameless” and most recently “Hunt”. The performance was set to take place right after the completion of the casting and pre-production schedule.
Not many people know about Cha Eun Woo’s background as an actor rather than a K-pop idol. He debuted as a member of ASTRO sextet, along with JinJin, MJ, MoonBin, Rocky, and Sanha. His reputation since then has been unparalleled, as he is known as the “facial genius” for his superb aesthetic. Cha Eun Woo, who possesses high genes and excels not only in his face but also in his voice, often records or covers emotional songs that match his soft, mellow voice. His early roles in K-dramas such as “Hit the Top” and “My ID is Gangnam Beauty” did not bring him much praise, and he was considered a romantic actor with stoic personalities. However, 2022 was already in his favor as he took on the character of an attractive priest Yohan in “Island,” and the season 2 of the horror-fantasy is currently available to stream. His performance was hailed as one of the best of her career. Cha Eun Woo is also in talks to join the cast of ‘K-pop: Lost in America,” and will soon appear alongside Park Gyu Young.
