The movie Pathaan has finally arrived in theatres, and needless to say, it seems to have surpassed everyone’s expectations! Fans finally got to see Bollywood’s Badshah take over the silver screen for the first time in four years after waiting several months for the Shah Rukh Khan-led movie. The movie may enjoy a dream run at the box office after surpassing the Rs 50 crore mark on its first day!
After favourable advance reservations and high hopes, Pathaan has lived up to its promise! Trade analysts forecasted that the movie will earn more than Rs 40 crores on its opening day at the box office. The movie had already raked in a staggering Rs 25 crore at national chains as of January 25 at 8 PM. It has performed better than Yash’s KGF Chapter 2 and War by Hrithik Roshan (Hindi). film critic and trade expert Taran Adarsh’s tweet read.: “At national chains, #Pathaan Day 1… Current time: 8:15. PVR: 11.40 million; INOX: 8.75 million; Cinepolis: 4.90 million Overall: 25.05 crore SUPERB”
Additionally, preliminary figures from trade website Sacnilk indicate that the spy action movie has already made Rs 52.50 crore, surpassing the Rs 50 crore threshold on day 1 alone.
If true, Pathaan’s opening day earnings easily surpassed those of YRF’s previous spy movie War. The movie starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff made a staggering Rs 32 crore on its opening day.
The spy action movie, which was directed by Siddharth Anand, tells the tale of an exiled RAW field agent (Sahrukh Khan), who is tasked with taking down a private terrorist group that is preparing a nuclear strike on India. John Abraham and Deepika Padukone have important roles in the movie as well.
