The latest film from Rohit Shetty, starring Ranveer Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Pooja Hegde, and a brief cameo from Deepika Padukone, got off to a slow start. Although there were huge anticipation for the movie, it did poorly at the ticket counters. Well, the Cirkus collection was a letdown this Christmas as well. Major centres and multiplexes failed to demonstrate any growth, which resulted in essentially flat collections for the movie.
The box office results for Ranveer Singh’s movie were dismal in the Maharashtra, Gujarat, CI, and Rajasthan circuits, and they were also dismal in the larger cities. Cirkus faced high expectations despite not having a large budget. The movie “has not even found an audience in Mumbai circuit,” says Box Office India, “but Maharashtra is still probably the better performer relative across India, but still quite bland.”
Trade reports claimed that because the movie only made about Rs 7.30 crore on its third day, the results were once again disappointing. As they have a fixed audience, movies in this category don’t receive much support in terms of trending. Avatar: The Way Of Water, which is doing surprisingly well at the box office in India, is a formidable rival to Cirkus.
“Cirkus,” starring Ranveer Singh and Varun Sharma, is a play by William Shakespeare based on “The Comedy of Errors.” On December 23, it was released on the Big Screens. In recent comments on Cirkus, director Rohit Shetty stated that he makes movies to entertain audiences and that his most recent film is a step in that very direction.
